Disco elysium black screen on startup

I reinstalled last night to do a replay; I can get through character creation and the opening interaction just fine, but the character wakes up naked in a black void with nothing to interact with. I can go into the menu and my character stats screen, but otherwise there are no graphics or interaction points. WebI've been trying to play disco elysium for a while but keep getting this graphics glitch where certain game assets don't load? Inside and outside. This same issue continues even after the final cut patch. I've included 3 screenshots. My graphics card isn't exactly top of the line anymore. Geforce 9600 GT. Any insight would be welcome. Thanks.

It did not work before (hung up on the loading screen). I'm not sure if it was due to the reboot for the BETA OS, or not. But it works gloriously! Also playing Rogue Legacy 2 this way is PERFECTION.
