Edge turn off trending
WebOct 1, 2024 · At the bottom of settings > Slide the button next to "Show News and Interests" to the left to turn off Trending Now. Unfortunatelly I have noticed that this only works in Edge browser. I tried on Chrome and the news section is not being disabled. Thats possible a bug that will be need to be addressed. Just recently, Windows 10 has pushed a new widget on my taskbar search window called "Trending searches". I have spent about half an hour trying to figure out how to remove this to no avail. I just want this thing gone.

Swipe slightly down on the tile to select it (a checkmark will appear), then at the bottom of the screen a toolbar will appear and you can "Turn off live tile" to make it no longer show these updates.
