How do you calculate map bp
WebHow do you calculate MAP BP? Estimation. While MAP can only be measured directly by invasive monitoring it can be approximately estimated using a formula in which the lower (diastolic) blood pressure is doubled and added to the higher (systolic) blood pressure and that composite sum then is divided by 3 to estimate MAP. WebThe MAP value is fairly easy to calculate. If you double the diastolic pressure, add the systolic number to it and divide that number by 3 you will have a very close approximation. Don't worry about minor variations from automatic devices as they may incorporate a more complicated formula that takes heart rate into consideration.

WebBP measurements were performed with a Dinamap 487210 device. In this group we also observed a small difference between measured MAP and calculated MAP (+1.7 mmHg, range -15.3 to 28.2 mmHg, p<0.001). MAP (m-c) correlated with age, all blood pressure indices and heart rate.
